Offer Description

Chemical Engineering School of The University of Adelaide opens three PhD and one Postdoctoral positions in the area of transport phenomenon in porous media. The industrial and environmental applications include CO2 and hydrogen storage, Enhanced Oil Recovery, well stimulation, and contamination of aquifers. However, the focus of the work is on applied mathematics. The activities include strict derivation of fundamental equations for flow and geomechanics, exact and asymptotic solutions of non-linear partial differential equations, and their analysis.

MSc in pure or applied mathematics, theoretical physics, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering is required. Skills/Qualifications

Applicants must have essential qualifications as following:

  • MSc in pure or applied mathematics, theoretical physics, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering is required.
  • Publications would be a bonus for a candidate.
  • Ability to carry out research projects independently, interpret data, and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts.
  • Excellent team working skills, self-motivation, initiative and persistence.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English. Taking PhD in Australia requires high grades in TOEFL or IELTS.

For the post-doc position, applicants must hold PhD degree, and have the abovementioned requirements too.
