As Personal Assistant, you will provide efficient and effective secretarial support to the Head of School (HoS), as well as broader administrative support to the staff of the School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of the HOS, including calendar and Outlook management, travel, and SharePoint site for Academic and Professional staff.
  • Prepare draft documents including minutes of meetings, letters, email replies, and Power Point presentations.
  • Arrange and coordinate School functions, external visitors, and travel arrangements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the School staff as required, including research and project based work.

This continuing position is full time and will be located across our Callaghan and Newcastle City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).


How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Proven administrative and secretarial experience, including working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to professionally liaise with Executive level stakeholders.
  • Ability to stay organised, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and work to competing deadlines.

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including office software skills in word processing, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and email applications.
  • Research and report writing experience.
