About the opportunity 

The Education Administration Officer provides a broad range of administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The incumbent will provide education support services in line with academic requirements and the overall timetable for the work area as well as coordinate assessment requirements for one or more programs of study including recitals and performance workshops. The Education Administration Officer ensures compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls and ensures a safe working environment for all staff and students.

  • experience with high volume work requiring care and attention to detail, and handling confidential or sensitive information

  • effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods

  • the ability to follow direction and provide professional service to senior colleagues in a considerate and flexible manner

  • experience in using Microsoft Office applications, and/or databases or other technological systems.

Desirable

  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of systems such as Sydney Student and Akari, together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities

  • knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment.
