About the HR Group

Human Resource and OHS: This function is responsible for developing the people strategy to support the University’s strategic plan and is accountable for the performance and delivery of the Human Resources function across the University.  It provides policy, industrial relations and critical advice and guidance ensuring that the University is compliant and cohesive whilst creating a culture that attracts and retains talent.  The function is also responsible for creating and maintaining a safe workplace where people can thrive and do their best work.

About the Role

The Partner, Senior Academic Talent Acquisition promotes enhanced talent acquisition services, managing multiple senior roles University wide, championing best-practice customer-focused talent acquisition strategies that attract and retain the best talent into the University. Operating with sound judgment, the incumbent will provide strategic advice to stakeholders throughout the TA process. Working closely with team Coordinators who support the function to deliver a red-carpet VIP experience for stakeholders and candidates.

In line with our service offering and the needs of the University, the Partner, Senior Academic Talent Acquisition will contribute to mentoring, growing, and sustaining the capability of the coordination team to support outstanding customer service and successful results across the talent acquisition life cycle.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Consult to faculties and the coordination team on best practice approaches to aid them in achieving success in their roles.
  • Deploy effective TA delivery and attraction strategies, using relevant sourcing channels to manage hiring time and obtain those hard-to-find candidates.
  • Steer vacancy consultation discussions with hiring managers, documenting agreed recruitment plans, including role requirements, timeframes, responsibilities for all involved, and the selection process.

About You

You will have considerable experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with senior stakeholders within the talent acquisition arena, offering excellent talent acquisition advice to both internal and external stakeholders.

Ideally, you will  have worked within a similar environment with multiple complexities, working across joint appointments between partners ( desired but not essential).

Key search criteria;

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Significant experience in managing external agencies and talent mapping providers.
  • Demonstrated ability in adapting and implementing candidate sourcing strategies, e.g., web sourcing, networking, advertising, and database searching with a consultative approach.
  • Established skills in clarifying and applying best practice recruitment policies and processes.
