The Opportunity

Monash Residential Services (MRS) provide a range of on and off-campus accommodation options and services to students, staff, the business community and short-term visitors to Monash University. MRS is seeking a driven and dynamic individual to join the team as an Operations Officer. This role is not a desk-job, focusing on the face to face supervision and daily coordination of the student residential environment, working closely with the Operations Manager.

As a heavily operations focused position, not a desk based administration role, some physical fitness and manual handling of packages will be required. A majority of the time will be spent immersing yourself in the residential building environment undertaking inspections, managing resident expectations, and other key operational activities which include:

  • Maintenance of resident requests and enquiries
  • Supporting ongoing and newly implemented residential programs and events
  • Coordinating and prioritising workflow to respond to incidents
  • Developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver best practice, efficient operations

To be successful in this role, you will possess:  

  • Prior experience working in a similar operational/accommodation services environment
  • A passion and desire to provide high-quality services to MRS' residents
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to be a key team member
  • Strong administrative skills with a keen attention to detail
