Salary: Level RA 1– $73,279 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% super

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about nutrition and research. As the Nutrition Assessment Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the Bone Health Program, working closely with Dr. Sandra Iuliano and the research team at Austin Health. Conducting dietary assessments in aged-care homes, you'll contribute to valuable insights in bone health research. With tailored training and the autonomy to manage your time effectively, this role offers both professional development and the chance to make meaningful contributions to healthcare.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting dietary and nutritional assessments across multiple aged care homes involved in the study as per protocol including data entry.
  • Liaise with and participate in regular meetings with the Nutrition Assessment Coordinator and when required with the research team.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Who We Are Looking For

You excel at building rapport with diverse communities, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, and fostering effective communication. Your organisational prowess ensures timely completion of tasks, both independently and collaboratively.

You will also have:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in the field of nutrition / dietetics and relevant experience or significant progress towards such a qualification with relevant experience.
  • Proficient computer skills demonstrated by competent use of standard MS-Office software tools, the internet and computer programs related to nutritional assessments such as FoodWorks software and data management programs such as RedCap
  • Experience with individual dietary and nutrition assessments.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
