Fixed term, full-time position available for 12 months (with possibility of extension)
The Discipline of General Practice and the Adelaide Rural Clinical School support teaching, research, clinical practice and the development of better prevention and public health policies, with an emphasis in primary care.
As a Health Statistician at the Adelaide Medical School, you will work with a team of clinicians, epidemiologists, and primary care researchers to provide quantitative analytical support to analyse large primary care datasets and clinical trials focusing upon the prevention, diagnosis and management of chronic diseases in primary care. Working with a dynamic team of primary care researchers, you will play an important role in the development and ongoing analysis of large datasets and supporting publications arising from this work.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop statistical analysis plans for research analyses.
- Undertake data cleaning and analysis to support data quality.
- Perform statistical analyses and develop reports as defined in statistical analysis plans.
- Provide statistical assistance to researchers, clinical academics, and students.
To be successful you will need:
- Completion of a Master degree or higher in statistics, applied data analysis or data science or have equivalent qualifications or research experience as a data manager/analyst.
- Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis programming in STATA.
- Demonstrated competence to set up and cleaning and analysing various forms of datasets, including administrative records, clinical trials and observational data in line with relevant study protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot and develop novel statistical approaches where required.
- Experience in contributing towards producing conference abstracts, research reports and/or submitting publications in research.
