• Prime opportunity to support enterprise technology in data centre and campus networks.
• Fixed Term for 1 year, full time position in a central Hawthorn location, but may require travel to outer campus to provide support.

About the Role
Join our dynamic Information Technology department at Swinburne University as a Network Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-level engineering support for our local and wide area network infrastructure, as well as our Wireless and Voice over IP infrastructure. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and managing network equipment, analyzing and diagnosing complex network problems, and ensuring network integrity and performance.

As a key member of our team, you will work on complex networking projects, collaborate with various IT and University staff, and evaluate new technologies to enhance our network infrastructure. About You 
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

• Substantial experience in the design and management of large multi-site computer networks.
• Substantial experience with the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance and upgrading of Cisco network routers, switches, and other network hardware. 
• Experience with the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Cisco Voice over IP and Microsoft Teams telephony and collaboration systems.
• Experience with the installation, configuration and ongoing support of, microwave communications links, SIP trunks and associated technology.
• Experience in a heterogeneous network environment, including Linux and Windows. The ability to analyse and identify server/network problems is essential. 

Qualifications

• A degree level qualification in information technology, information systems, or equivalent
• Related industry certification (CCNP, CCIE), and/or equivalent experience
