About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is expanding, and is excited to be recruiting multiple academic roles in preparation for the launch if it’s new Physiotherapy program.

We are seeking innovative and progressive early to mid-career academics to contribute to and to lead impactful teaching and learning for this exciting new undergraduate course offering. These positions will also have the opportunity to conduct and publish high quality research in the area of Physiotherapy. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a high standard of teaching and learning, educational design and delivery.
  • Contribute to the Faculty’s research profile through publications in high quality journals, and successful applications for grant funding, independently or as a member of a team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships within health and social care contexts, other educational, research and healthcare institutions and within the wider community.
  • Senior Lecturer’s will be expected to provide a meaningful level of leadership in scholarship and/or professional activities relevant to the profession, along with significantly contributing to the Physiotherapy programs.

About you

We are seeking candidates with a qualification relevant to the level of appointment and a minimum of four years academic and/or professional experience, coupled with current unrestricted registration or eligibility for unrestricted registration as a physiotherapist with AHPRA.

Applicants should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively teaching as required, conduct research and present findings, publish in high-quality outlets and prepare effective reports that document research findings for both internal and external audiences as well as supervise Honours and HDR students as required.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the require levels of knowledge, experience in teaching, research and service/engagement outlined in the candidate booklet for each academic level.


Salary and benefits

These are full-time, continuing positions at Academic level A B or C based at our Coffs Harbour or Lismore campuses. Part-time options and relocation support is available to the right candidates. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of:

  • Academic Level A: $74,559 - $100,213 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $117,249.
  • Academic Level B: $105,344 - $124,585 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $145,764.
  • Academic Level C: $128,427 - $147,663 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $172,765.
