Multimedia Designer – The Kirby Institute

  • Employment Type: Part-time (17.5 hours/0.5FTE per week)
  • Duration: 6 months fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $96,960 - $103,434 (Full time equivalent, salary will be pro-rata) + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus)

Why Your Role Matters:

As the Multimedia Designer, you will play a key role in producing content, creating engaging presentations, digital images, and animations, assisting in planning, development and execution of training events and exercises that use EPIWATCH . Working with other analysts, students, and researchers, you will be responsible for integrating EPIWATCH data and other data sources into future events and training activities, and support the academic team to plan, develop and execute upcoming pandemic exercise and other training events.

The role of Multimedia Designer reports to the EPIWATCH Project Manager - Operation and has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Multimedia Design, Creatives, Web Design or other related discipline with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including word processing, Adobe Creative Suite tools or similar —Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch—as well as Adobe Premiere, Flash, and After Effects, Web skills such HTML, CSS, and social media, presentations (PowerPoint), online interfaces (application and submission forms etc.), graphical display and spreadsheets (Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability of an artistic understanding and passion for aesthetics and visually appealing content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to write high quality narrative materials and training materials.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks with extensive experience in office management, scheduling, and data organisation
