About the role

This role involves the procurement of monographs and curriculum resources as well as provision of support for acquisition processes that contribute to the development of the library’s special and cultural collections. You will undertake processes and tasks that facilitate the timely and efficient acquisition of resources across a range of formats for our collections.

This role offers Hybrid flexibility with a combination of time working on campus at Geelong Waterfront and work from home.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing library resources from vendors and undertake ordering, payment and receipt of print and electronic books and complete physical processing requirements for items in the general and Special Collections.
  • Consulting with sources to gather information and seek the expertise and advice of others as appropriate.
  • Understand local processes, maintain documentation, manage records, regularly track progress of work tasks, and identify key issues.
  • Recognising the importance of teamwork and of effective communication amongst team members and building rapport within immediate team in ways that are respectful and inclusive of others.
  • Building productive relationships with a diverse range of existing stakeholders and actively seek to maintain positive relationships.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Degree in library and information science conferring eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in information resource procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in integrated library management systems.
  • Experience in using a variety software applications and library operating systems.
