About the opportunity

We are seeking a Media and Public Relations Adviser (Science) who will be responsible for developing and implementing proactive media and public relations strategies that support faculty initiatives and strategies and identify faculty achievements and research stories for media placement to increase the University’s media profile and to enhance the University’s brand positioning. The Media and Public Relations Adviser (Science) reports to the Manager of Faculty Media and PR and works collaboratively with other media and public relations staff across the University to ensure alignment and coordination of media activity.

About you

  • portrays experience in developing and executing media and public relations strategies
  • provides media advice and public relations support to Deans, Heads of Schools and multi-disciplinary centres
  • communicates strongly in identifying, developing and writing stories and multimedia, cross channel content
  • is highly versed in establishing and managing key working relationships with relevant journalists, writers and specialist reporters in TV, print, radio and online environments
  • demonstrates skills in stakeholder management within, across all levels and external to the University of Sydney.
