About the opportunity

Join Southern Cross University’s Office of Engagement , where we are committed to Transforming Tomorrow. As a Marketing Assistant, you will support the team through diving into dynamic projects, engaging in social media content, responding to enquiries, maintaining marketing databases and coordinating video/photo shoots. Core responsibilities include:

  • Crafting engaging social media posts, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy is aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Managing enquiries received across various communication channels, providing timely responses and escalating where necessary.
  • Support on marketing campaigns and liaison with external agencies.
  • Administering photo and video databases, ensuring proper filing systems and alignment with established practices.
  • Undertake a range of content creation and amplification activities, as directed by the Digital Marketing Manager; including written, video, podcast and creative initiatives.

About you

We're seeking a recent marketing graduate who is passionate about making a positive impact through their creative work in this broadly scoped role. More specifically, you will have:

  • A recent qualification in marketing, demonstrating a solid understanding of marketing fundamentals.
  • Excellent written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in small-screen video creation and editing, showcasing your creative flair.
  • Adept digital literacy, including social media platform management skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite. Experience with other marketing software or platforms, such as podcasts, is desirable but not essential.

Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, fixed term (6 Months)
  • Located at either Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore campuses.
  • HEW Level 4. The base salary ranges from $69,473 - $74,607 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $87,290.
