The role & key responsibilities

RMIT Vietnam Market Intelligence & Analytics Department is responsible for providing a wide range of market intel, research evidence and customer insights to reduce risks of the university and inform decision making in brand, products, pricing, competitors, promotion, and channels. We are seeking a highly motivated Market Intelligence & Data Analyst for our Market Intelligence team, with experience in data science and analytics techniques and methodologies to collaborate with internal stakeholders and advance the market and educational analytics maturity across the university.

You will help us implement robust data analytics solutions and disseminating actionable insights to stakeholders. Your work will serve as the university’s market intelligence hub, bringing expertise on business intelligence and data science.


The role is expected to have a solid understanding of the education market and possess leadership capabilities to initiate and drive market intelligence projects as well as efficiently disseminating research and interpretation of data to stakeholders.

This role will be in constant communications with both internal & external stakeholders in Vietnam and Melbourne, requiring a working understanding of all stakeholders’ functions and department objectives to deliver optimal intelligence solution. This role identifies risks, make improvements to, and streamlines procedures on quantitative research design and market intelligence solutions to effectively facilitate projects and enhance quality of deliverables.

The position is mainly based in HCMC but the scope of work will cover other regional markets following the university ’s direction.

Key selection criteria

  • Bachelor's in business analytics, marketing or another aligned major.

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in a similar role in in market research or/and similar industries

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, comfort working with complex datasets, predominantly in Excel and SQL, Power BI is a plus

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Attention to detail with strong quality control

  • Experience with data visualization/BI Tools such as Power BI to communicate business insights using data

  • Demonstrated good knowledge and experience with computer software and platforms, including databases, spreadsheets, presentation software, apps and social media. Proficient using MO365 suite and SPSS, SQL for database management and data manipulation

  • Excellent customer service approach and ability to engage, support, and work collaboratively with managers and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including coordination, liaison, and communication, both written and spoken, in English and Vietnamese, across a broad range of stakeholders

  • Strong project management, agency and commitment to continuous improvement in work processes, to ensure quality outcomes. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

English proficiency requirements

If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard, equivalent to IELTS (General) 6.0.  RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a Linguaskills test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
