The Office of Research provides a high level of service excellence to UniSQ’s research community to enable and empower our researchers to undertake world-class research with minimal roadblocks. The team are working with researchers across the research life cycle and are actively engaged across functional areas. 

Who you are

Seeking a highly organised individual who will be responsible for overseeing the development and ongoing operation of the University’s research integrity framework, including adherence to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, the operation of the University’s ethics committees, and the development of new research policies, to ensure that UniSQ has a functioning research integrity framework and meets research reporting and governance obligations.

What you'll do

  • Lead a positive culture of research integrity and ethical standards at UniSQ through the development and maintenance of a framework that embeds the requirements of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (the Code) into the conduct of research and research training, to enable a thorough understanding of the principles of research integrity and compliance with the code.
  • Ensure that the Universitys research Ethics Committees operate in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations and supervise ongoing development of efficient and effective practices for the committees, including initiating and developing improved processes to accommodate growth in applications, changes to legislative and regulatory environments, and training needs for committee members and researchers.
  • Promote and foster a culture of research integrity by leading the provision of ongoing research integrity training and education for relevant staff and students.
  • Implement and manage the provision of comprehensive procedures and processes to ensure the University is meeting its external research compliance requirements.
  • Implement and manage a robust research complaints framework in accordance with all relevant research codes, guidelines and legislation.

What will help you succeed

  • Postgraduate qualifications with relevant experience in a higher education, research, government or similar environment, or extensive management experience and proven expertise in project management or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated high level experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks, particularly with respect to policy, with a particular understanding of the research policy environment, and a strong record of achievement in the development and management of strategic frameworks to support and enable institutional research endeavours while upholding external regulatory obligations.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to provide strategic advice and establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of clients and collaborators, with the ability to translate strategic direction into work priorities in a relevant and inspiring way.

Salary: Total remuneration range $146,257 to $154,739 pa (includes salary range of $123,580 to $130,747 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
