The Manager, Program Advice plays an important role in leading our Program Advice team within the Student Engagement portfolio. This role is essential for supporting students to progress through their academic programs, enhancing retention and success rates. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align strategic and operational objectives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

This includes:

  • Leading a team dedicated to providing high-quality progression and success advice to students.
  • Utilising your extensive knowledge of Higher Education policy and best practices to effectively resolve complex student matters.
  • Developing and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders across Colleges, Schools, and Divisions.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement to enhance the overall student experience.

  • Passion for serving students, with a sound knowledge of the factors that contribute to their academic progression and success.
  • Eye for detail and a strong working knowledge of how to apply policy and governance requirements to student progression procedures.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams and disciplines. 

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 8 Higher Education Level and will be based at Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land)

About the Unit

The Student Engagement unit within Student Central is tasked with providing a holistic student engagement experience from the time students enrols and throughout their journey at the University. This includes orientating students as they arrive, proactively supporting and keeping them on track with their studies and providing an enriched campus experience.

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex competing priorities, with a primary focus on customer service and the achievement of key business objectives.
