About The Role:
This position involves supervising, managing, and working collaboratively with a team of Support Specialists, Technical Officers, and an outsourced Team. The team is responsible for the Creative Production Support Unit within the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry (MCASI), which supports Fine Art, Journalism/Communications, Screen Arts, and Theatre Arts.
This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and delivery of efficient production support services within the School. The objective is to cater to the requirements of the production, performance, and publication-based teaching and research programs. The individual will also be responsible for managing the maintenance, operation, and repair of technical resources and infrastructure related to the programs. As the Manager of the Creative Production Support Unit, the individual will lead and coordinate the technical staff team in providing support for the teaching and research programs, while aligning with the strategic goals of the School and the University.
In this role you will:
- Ensure that the delivery of production support services in the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry aligns with the needs of the School's teaching and research programs, as well as its operational plan and strategic objectives.
- Work with relevant areas to develop strategic responses and plans that ensure adequate resources and infrastructure are available to support staff and student production and publication activities.
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operational, service, and resource management to meet the needs of the School's production and publication-based teaching and research activities.
- Manage physical and technical resources used in the production, performance, distribution, and/or publication activities of School students and staff.
- Ensure that appropriate operational controls are in place for all equipment and facilities to comply with current legislation relating to health and safety and the electronic storage and use of personal information.
- Work closely with the School Business Manager to formulate technical support budgets for 2025.
