This is a HEP 9, $119,295 to $124,115 + 15% loading + 17% superannuation, continuing, full time position.

About the role

Reporting to the Director - Operational Planning and Asset Management, the Manager Operations is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of facilities essential soft and hard services across all VU campuses.

The position is located at our Footscray Park campus and is required to be physically onsite full time and on call to respond to after hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team of Facilities professionals to ensure efficient delivery of works and services with high emphasis on customer service 
  • Contractor management 
  • Financial management including budget development, forecasting and monthly monitoring
    Provision of strategic advice on operations
  • Manage activities relating to Essential Safety Measures and compliance

About the person

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role managing teams to deliver services across multiple sites within a complex organisation
  • Strong financial management experience and attention to detail
  • Experience in framework supplier contract management and tender processes
  • High level stakeholder engagement and customer service with experience in conflict resolution
  • Significant experience and understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements related to facilities management and building industry
