Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Manager, Networks and Infrastructure to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.

The Networks and Infrastructure Manager is accountable for the balance of strategy and operations whilst leading a team of IT professionals who manage the networks, security, infrastructure, and data centre operations for QUT, ensuring stability, security, and efficient operations. This role will provide strong technical leadership implementing best practice standards to support QUT’s technology needs. It is responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualification together with extensive relevant experience managing complex networks, infrastructure, and data centre operations at enterprise scale.
  • Proven success in, leading and managing technical teams maintaining a coherent team culture focused on achieving organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully cultivating and maintaining productive, collaborative and outcomes-focused working relationships at executive levels and with vendors.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing own and team workflow priorities, across a diverse number of initiatives within tight timeframes.
  • Proven experience developing and optimising operational and delivery practices and processes focused on delivering scalable, reliable, and secure services leveraging industry best-practice engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to research, critically appraise and evaluate new technologies and approaches to enhance complex operations.
  • Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders to understand budget management principles and practices. Ability to interpret financial data, forecast budgetary needs, and make informed recommendations for necessary modifications to meet overall yearly budgetary targets.
