About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Manager: IT Risk & Governance is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement with respect to leading and managing the enterprise ICT risk management methodology, and developing and supporting an ICT governance framework.

In this role you will engage with senior University staff and communicate with the ISTS management team and relevant staff, to ensure the appropriate service quality, risk management and governance frameworks are in place to align the University’s enterprise ICT services with its strategic goals and objectives. You will work closely with Risk and Assurance Services to ensure the development and implementation of efficient and effective internal audit activities, and to coordinate responses to external audits.

Information Strategy and Technology Services (ISTS) has the primary strategic and operational responsibility for the provision of the university’s digital environment and ICT services. ISTS consists of approximately 180 staff in 9 key areas who contribute to UniSA’s strategic goals and objectives and provide University wide ICT support for staff and students.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience with ICT service quality management, risk management and/or governance in a complex IT environment comparable with the University
  • Extensive experience with continuous improvement and a proven ability to develop innovative and practical solutions, taking into account technology, staffing, and financial limitations
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills including presenting business cases and recommendations for consideration by senior management
  • Experience in conducting and/or responding to IT audits
