Victoria University is seeking a highly strategic and well-organised professional who will lead development of Victoria University’s (VU) international rankings framework and supporting processes and will work with the Research and Impact leadership to define what research with impact means at VU. 

About the role

This new and strategically important role within the Research and Impact Portfolio will report to the Associate Director, Research Strategy, Policy and Infrastructure to provide excellence and expertise in international ranking practices, systems and processes as well as define, develop and embed impact measurement in VU research activities. This role will enable Victoria University to achieve the objectives of its Strategic Plan, 2022-2028 : Start Well, Finish Brilliantly, as well as the priorities of the Research and Impact Plan, 2023-2028 .

The position holder will work with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Impact (DVC RI) and senior leadership to develop a strategic approach towards improving the University’s participation and success in the international rankings programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with others across the University, to ensure alignment and leverage and build upon existing institutional capabilities. In addition, the position will work closely with the research leadership team to support and foster a strong research impact culture and practice. This will include the development of frameworks for impact planning, capture, creation and communication, as well as processes for institutional monitoring and the reward of impact practice and achievement. 

This is a part-time continuing position at a HEP8 classification, $102,256 - $115,153 (pro-rata) +17% superannuation, working 29.4 hours per week (0.8 FTE). This position is located at our Footscray Park Campus.
