  • Base Salary of $140,913 - $148,684 + 17% superannuation

 About the opportunity
As the Manager, Higher Degree Industry Internships you will play an integral role in shaping and implementing the Industry Internships Program for Higher Degree Research students, leveraging the existing relationships and work of the broader university stakeholders. In this role you will develop and implement strategies, processes, and policy, ensuring alignment with overarching objectives of the Research Portfolio to uplift industry engagement and overall experience for HDR students.

You will be leading a newly formed team within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Researcher Training group and play a pivotal role in realising the Sydney 2032 Strategy by continuing to uplift the student experience and contributing to research excellence. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work within a dynamic team reporting into the Director, Graduate Research School

  • map and identify opportunities for industry engagement for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students leveraging existing relationships in the broader university

  • encourage Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students to apply for the industry internship program

  • lead the implementation of processes and procedures aimed at creating a smooth process for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students engaging in industry internships

  • provide leadership, people management and coordination to two direct reports

  • develop effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders

About you

  • bachelor’s degree in any discipline paired with relevant industry experience

  • experience working in or an understanding of the complexities associated with Higher Education environments

  • demonstrated ability to implement strategy in large and complex organisations

  • demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team including goal setting, advocacy, and coordination

  • proven experience fostering and leveraging stakeholder relationships for external engagement

  • ability to present data collect by team members to senior stakeholders with meaningful and engaging insights.
