As a Manager, Digital Quality Assurance you will: 

Lead a highly strategic, comprehensive and innovative suite of Quality Assurance enabling services that address requirements of all University ICT projects and operations, inclusive of governance, consultation and advisory services; design, scoping and estimating; all types of test solution development, designing, building analysis and reporting. You will remain abreast of emerging trends and best practice in quality and testing both on-premises and in the cloud, DevOps and CI/CD, and related ICT disciplines and ensure the practice’s capabilities and services always remain current and effective.

Milestones you'll achieve in your first 6-12 months​:


  • Settle in, learn the Deakin landscape, get to know your team and how Deakin applies quality assurance within its Digital department.  

  • Get to know your key stakeholders, both within and outside of Digital Services.  

  • Work with your practice members, and within the digital delivery framework, to understand and evolve the quality assurance practice.  

  • Evangelise best practices quality assurance across the digital department and the wider Deakin enterprise. 

  • Work across and understand the quality framework, quality streams and teams to define and implement mechanisms for continuous improvement. 

  • Coach, mentor and build connection with your team ensuring that they are happy and productive.


To be successful, you’ll have:  


  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or 

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (testing, quality assurance) 

  • Extensive experience managing a Quality Assurance or Testing functions and team at a senior level in a large, complex organisation 

  • Extensive experience with testing methodologies and techniques 

  • Applied, working knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in Continuous Quality Testing in a software deployment pipeline
