The Manager, Data Reporting & Systems in the Advancement Portfolio is a hands-on role, responsible for the timely execution of tasks that require specialised technical expertise used for reporting and analysis. This role will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and business procedures, as well as having thorough oversight of the overall technical architecture used across the Division.
Reporting into Associate Director, Business Insights, this position sits within the Portfolio’s Advancement Services unit, however, will work closely with senior staff in the Alumni & Supporter Relations and Development teams as clients.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
lead the Data, Reporting & Systems team, managing all facets of a fast-paced queue of technical tasks
manage the backend technical infrastructure needed to support the division’s system, reporting and analytical needs
develop and maintain Data integrity and governance framework for the Division
manage the performance of the Data, Reporting & Systems team
contribute to system and Data related projects across the division.

a degree with a computer programming, data analysis or information systems focus, plus relevant experience in the field
experience managing and developing a technical team to ensure deadlines are met, documentation is maintained, and consistent business rules are always applied
demonstrated and extensive experience with data preparation, integration and design, as well as data query management
experience developing and maintaining a catalogue of database objects in various database technologies – SQL would be a must and knowledge of Oracle or Snowflake would be advantageous
ability to use judgement and initiative in the application of other technical knowledge, skills and experience to a variety of work assignments, with highly developed computing skills including
extensive skills in the use of modelling, relational database and data warehouse/mart technologies
highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to prepare reports of a consistently high standard and present information for division executive and University leadership
demonstrated interpersonal and client relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively build and manage client relationships, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts
excellent workload, project management and organisational skills, including the demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, take initiative in relation to new projects, work independently and conceptualise and plan achievable goals
demonstrated focus and excellence in customer service as defined by the customer experience with all interactions.
Knowledge in data quality principles and procedures
Experience in data visualisation (type Power BI) would be advantageous
