  • Level 7, full-time fixed-term appointment until June 2020
  • Salary range: $ 86,801.00 to $ 96,427.00 plus superannuation

About the team

University’s Cultural Precinct presents a coordinated approach to the University’s cultural outreach and community relations and promotes engagement with the community and corporate sponsors to showcase the University’s major collections and exhibitions.

It includes UWA Museums, which, within the Dr Harold Schenberg Art Centre, encompasses the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, The University of Western Australia Art Collection, the Cruthers Collection of Women's Art and the Berndt Museum. It also forms an umbrella over arts and cultural activities on campus, working closely with the School of Music, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts, Perth Festival, UWA Publishing, the Institute of Advanced Studies, University Theatres, The University Club and UWA Extension.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will be responsible for implementing and managing a community engagement and audience development program for the Cultural Precinct in line with the University’s objectives, with a specific focus on digital communities and initiatives. You will liaise with the Brand, Marketing and Recruitment Office and the Digital & Services Team in the development and delivery of engagement, marketing and digital program initiatives.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent competency including industry qualifications and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on digital trends and new emerging technologies
  • Highly developed communication verbal and written skills, specifically within digital communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing communication, marketing and digital project initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of audience engagement programs and initiatives
  • Experienced in cross-collaborative community project, events and program development.
  • Demonstrated planning and management of projects
  • Experience in evaluation and measurement of programs.

About you:

To succeed in this role you must be passionate about marketing and communication, with a particular focus on digital communities and initiatives. You will be confident providing consultancy services in areas of digital, online and community engagement and audience development. You will strive to improve current digital programs by developing and managing the strategy to do so. You will be comfortable providing direction to others, leading and supporting a team throughout various initiatives towards the development of the program. You will possess experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop collaborative relationships to promote the program initiatives.
