About the Role

The Australian Research Council (ARC) Training Centre in Cognitive Computing for Medical Technologies is hiring a dedicated and organised professional to manage its day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Director, the Manager will coordinate relationships with partners, manage finances, track research projects, and handle reporting to governance committees and the ARC. Additionally, the Manager will provide administrative support, assist researchers with tasks like travel arrangements, and prioritise matters for the Director.

The Centre aims to train a skilled workforce proficient in developing and applying cognitive computing technologies in data-intensive medical contexts. The Centre provides a top-tier research training environment for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, fostering industry-driven collaboration and preparing individuals with a blend of research, industry, and entrepreneurial skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage external relations activities in the Centre.
  • Oversee the Centre’s internal communications to ensure all staff are aware of, the Centre’s and University’s activities.
  • Coordinate and write reports for the governance committees, industry partners and the ARC.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate should be a highly organised and dedicated professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should demonstrate a high level of professionalism, competence in financial management, and the ability to coordinate collaborative relationships between partners.

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree or significant experience in a similar management role or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • A successful track record of administration and management in a research centre or equivalent business unit;
  • Experience in financial and human resource management and managing a dynamic and diverse workplace.
