About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Resources and Technical Services, the Manager: Academic Library Services is a key strategic position, leading and managing the City West campus library team to deliver a range of services to support learning, teaching, and research.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and integration of Library support to UniSA Business, UniSA Creative and UniSA Justice & Society including representation on committees and project groups such as, Academic Unit Board Meetings, Research Strategy Groups and Teaching and Learning Groups
  • Effective team management of 15 professional staff members across a complex range of library services
  • Oversee the provision of service and support to UniSA Online to ensure optimal and innovative service provision which supports best practice online pedagogy
  • Lifecycle management of information resources to meet the existing and emerging needs of the students, academics, and researchers
  • Ensure the safe and appropriate usage of Library facilities, by students and others, including liaison and engagement with key partners across campus
  • Oversight of key strategic projects and initiatives to deliver digital transformation of library services and resources and teaching and learning experiences across the University

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (i.e. library and information management, information technology, management, or education)
  • Experience implementing contemporary Library services to deliver a positive customer experience.
  • Extensive management experience, leading and developing teams in a complex environment
  • Well-developed strategic and problem-solving skills
  • High level interpersonal, communication, analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects
