About the position

Reporting to the Finance Senior Manager, Research, this position provides professional financial support, guidance and advice to the assigned Portfolio/Division leadership team. In partnership with the Portfolio/Division Leadership, it will develop business financial plans in line with University operating plans and the University strategic plan. It will also be responsible for implementing and overseeing the University wide financial management frameworks within the Portfolio/Division. Management Accountants will be assigned to a specific team within the division - Research, Business Partner or Operations. Tasks may vary slightly depending on team assignment

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

• A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience, or a range of management experience, or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes
• Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills
• Proven experience and success in managing staff performance and development
• Demonstrated experience managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships
