  • 2 x full-time fixed term contracts (1 until 2/12/22 and 1 for two years)
  • Commencement Salary: $99,510 up to 17% superannuation


About the Role

As a member of the Corporate Finance Team within the Finance Unit, the Management Accountant is responsible for corporate management and statutory reporting as a business partner to corporate areas of the University. This position will build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the University including senior staff in the Portfolios. The position will identify and implement strategic initiatives and provide relevant financial information and facilitate the corporate planning initiatives of the University.

The contract position until 2 December 2022 will be responsible for capital accounting and reporting. The two year contract position will be focused around management accounting and advising with respect to Research activity within the University.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to key stakeholders regarding the strategic and operational objectives of the University
  • Facilitate and consolidate the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to large and complex units of finance strategies and analysis
  • Identify and implement strategic initiatives
  • Provide high quality service and information to the University by working closely with stakeholders

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance related discipline and active membership of a professional accounting body (e.g. CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent)
  • Experience working in an accounting position involving the development of forecasts, budgets and financial plans within a complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge and experience in applying financial and accrual accounting standards, structures, principles and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and improving systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
