  • Base salary range: $92,679 – $102,830 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team
The role of Finance is to support the appropriate stewardship of the University’s finance through the provision of a strategic financial advice, establishment of a financial management framework, financial management tools, procurement, management of the University’s Investment and Endowment portfolio, as well as financial oversight and accountability for finance and human resources administrative and transactional operations.
Finance undertakes this role through three core pillars: Financial Compliance, Financial Performance and Procurement.

In undertaking this role, Finance operates support across the University, from advising the Vice-Chancellery, Executive and Senior leadership team on strategy and performance to supporting staff and students in their purchases and travel arrangements.

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Manager (Financial Performance Support), you will provide support to the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting consolidation process for the whole University. You will also prepare and present reports and support the development of planning models. In addition, you will provide analytical insights to help mitigate any risk and assist in preparing long term financial planning.

You will work closely with various teams across the University.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Professional membership of a recognised Australian or international equivalent accounting body
  • Substantial experience in financial planning for large organisations with multiple funding arrangements
  • Experience using oracle-based enterprise system solutions for planning is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating, preparing and monitoring complex consolidated budgets, forecasting and income/expenditure management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to relate to diverse groups within the University and externally
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with experience in balancing big picture with financial accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly developed reporting skills

Note: A Current National Police Clearance Certificate is required for the successful applicant.
