Your new role 


  

Curtin University have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Officer, Mechanical to join our Maintenance & Operations team on a Continuing (Permanent) Full time basis.


Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Schedule and action the breakdown, backlog and preventative maintenance for Curtin University’s mechanical infrastructure.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating all maintenance requirements in accordance with relevant Australian Standard and Work Safe Western Australia laws and regulations;
  • Offering support and advice to contractors and Curtin employees to efficiently undertake repairs, replacements, test and commission equipment
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive scheduling system
  • Respond to client requests in a timely manner
  • Coordinating the cost effective and timely delivery of works with external contractors.
 
We are looking for someone with:
  • Completion of an Advanced / Post Trade Certificate in Mechanical/Refrigeration or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
  • Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence
  • White Card or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours on an on-call roster
  • Willingness to travel to other campus locations as required
  • Possession of a restricted electrical license and Australian Refrigeration Council accreditation.
  • Previous experience in contract administration in the facilities management industry
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with using the Microsoft Office suite and Building Management system
  • HVAC & Controls related experience within a Maintenance environment.

As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
