Your new role
Curtin University have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Officer, Mechanical to join our Maintenance & Operations team on a Continuing (Permanent) Full time basis.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Schedule and action the breakdown, backlog and preventative maintenance for Curtin University’s mechanical infrastructure.
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating all maintenance requirements in accordance with relevant Australian Standard and Work Safe Western Australia laws and regulations;
- Offering support and advice to contractors and Curtin employees to efficiently undertake repairs, replacements, test and commission equipment
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive scheduling system
- Respond to client requests in a timely manner
- Coordinating the cost effective and timely delivery of works with external contractors.
We are looking for someone with:
- Completion of an Advanced / Post Trade Certificate in Mechanical/Refrigeration or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
- Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence
- White Card or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours on an on-call roster
- Willingness to travel to other campus locations as required
- Possession of a restricted electrical license and Australian Refrigeration Council accreditation.
- Previous experience in contract administration in the facilities management industry
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with using the Microsoft Office suite and Building Management system
- HVAC & Controls related experience within a Maintenance environment.
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
