About the opportunity

The Library Performance Analyst creates and disseminates meaningful performance-related data to support the monitoring and development of client-focused library services and practices. This role is responsible for collating, verifying, cleansing, analysing and visualising data to support Library programs, including cyclical reporting, service improvement projects, and strategic initiatives.

The Library Performance Analyst will work with various software solutions, cleaning, reconciling, and transforming large data sets, and interrogating the data to successfully demonstrate the acquired insights. The position provides high level data analytics and data visualisation and is central to the development of Library dashboards and other reporting platforms. The position will work on programs that significantly impact organisational operational excellence.

The University Library reserves the right to transfer or rotate the location of this position to any of its Library sites based on workloads, professional development, or business needs.

About you

  • is degree qualified in preferred areas of data science, statistics, and analytics with working experience within similar roles
  • proficiency building dashboards using data visualisation applications
  • advanced skills in excel, report writing and data manipulation
  • demonstrated expertise in analysing data, using data to create compelling stories and using data to inform service improvement
  • ability to clearly communicate and summarise statistical and technical information
  • demonstrated ability to develop ideas and solutions with internal and external clients, displaying a thorough understanding of clients' and business needs
  • the demonstrated ability to identify new and emerging technologies and to assess and implement new and emerging technology solutions and initiatives that assist learning, teaching and research needs and improve the quality of the library services
  • relevant experience in planning and delivering research or education analytics advisory services and projects in a complex environment.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
