The Flinders University Library is a pivotal resource, instrumental in supporting the achievement of the University's goals and mission. The team is dedicated to enabling equitable access to information, the library is critical to the University's learning and research endeavours. 

 
About the Role 

Flinders University Library services are rapidly evolving to provide high-quality targeted, and integrated support for staff and students by offering mature analytic tools, and new technologies. As the Library Coordinator (Education Engagement), your leadership will contribute to the delivery of library and learning services required by Flinders staff and students. By collaborating with Academic Groups and other service providers, you will have the opportunity to coordinate new projects, and monitor and integrate library learning and teaching services into academic programs and education quality processes.  

In collaboration with the Library Coordinator (Research Engagement), you will strive to deliver high quality virtual and physical services to the Education community, across multiple locations. With your extensive knowledge on library services, you will be involved in evaluating current products and tools that support library provisions. As the Library Coordinator, you will also explore innovative service improvement strategies to ensure that Flinders Library education services evolve in step with global trends.

About You 

With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will maintain strong relationships with staff, students, and service providers. You will demonstrate a high level of written communication skills, including the ability to develop reports and project documentation, and negotiate with a variety of clients.

Your demonstrated experience in effectively leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet team objectives, is complemented by your natural ability to foster an open team environment. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while always demonstrating a commitment to high quality service delivery. With your knowledge and experience with varying library services, you will be able to apply critical thinking skills and data analysis to make informed recommendations for new library and learning tools.

The successful candidate will also have a postgraduate degree from a higher education institution in library and information science or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, and/or demonstrated professional experience in tertiary teaching is desirable.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment:

  • A National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will be required by Flinders University before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
