  • Base salary range: Level 6 $84,665 – $89,477 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The University Library provides information resources, services, systems, and spaces to support, stimulate, and innovate learning, teaching and research. The University Library is committed to developing and delivering services to be strategic enablers for the University in meeting its goals; enabling and promoting the creation, storage, transfer, and seamless access to information and collaborating closely with the University community to deliver innovative solutions for their learning, teaching and research needs.

The University Library has two sections – Research & Collections and Engagement & Experience. The Engagement & Experience team is responsible for provision of research and teaching support, inquiry and reference services, student IT support, library spaces and facilities, information literacy and research skills training, lending, and collection development and management.

About the opportunity

As the appointee, under general direction you will provide professional learning support services to students, including the provision of information literacy skills resources and training, support for student transition programmes and a comprehensive reference service.

As part of the Student Experience & Learning portfolio, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a suite of frontline library services to the broader University community.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency; a qualification in library and information studies is desirable.
  • Substantial experience in delivering client services, preferably in a library environment
  • Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills with demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of relevant software applications including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work cohesively within a team environment
  • Ability to solve problems and produce innovative solutions
  • Ability to effectively support a diverse range of clients in identifying, accessing, and using information resources

Note: Occasional travel within the state may be required
