About the Role 
As the Legal Administrator, you will be managing the lifecycle of legal requests and matters handled by the Legal Services MDHS and STEM portfolio teams. This includes the creation, management and retrieval of legal case files, document and contract processing, updating relevant databases, managing the Legal Services inbox and phone line, responding to queries, the coordination and servicing of meetings, assisting with projects and general administration work. 

Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Provide proactive administrative and operational support to ensure an efficient running of the day-to-day activities within Legal Services team, including supplier liaison, filing, meetings organisations and ad hoc administration,secretarial and para legal tasks 

  • Represent the Legal and Risk team, one team one goal ethos, such that its expertise and approach is consistently represented across the University 

  •  Assist other members of the Administration team during busy periods to ensure that tasks are completely efficiently and to deadlines. 

  • Confidentially liaise with clients of the Legal Services team including internal and external clients such as University staff and external parties 


Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated legal professional who demonstrates the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. You can exercise independent judgement, work efficiently under pressure and can schedule completion of work to meet deadlines. You will have excellent attention to detail and can effortlessly provide a high level of customer service at all times. You will strive off initiation and will drive continuous improvement within your department.  

You will also have: 


  • Previous experience working in legal administartion or as a legal assistant or legal secretary 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training 

  • Advanced skills in a range of computer applications, including email, electronic calendars, word processing, spreadsheets and databases, document management systems and the ability to learn new applications, with a focus on document management
