As a Lecturer in Speech Pathology, you will be contributing to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of Speech Pathology topics. You will be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of curricula, including short courses that are attractive to existing and new cohorts of students. This role will specifically be focussed on the delivery of placement education for our Speech Pathology students.

To ensure teaching is in step with contemporary practice, knowledge, and skills in a dynamic healthcare landscape, you will concurrently engage in practice as a Speech Pathologist. Your concurrent engagement in practice will support the strengthening of new and existing partnerships with external stakeholders that have the potential for providing improved teaching, learning and/or research outcomes for the University.

About You 

You will be committed to fostering a highly supportive education environment by utilising your exceptional communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of staff, students, and industry stakeholders. Your natural ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders will develop productive partnerships that can provide opportunities for students and promote graduate employability. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while always demonstrating a commitment to high quality service delivery. You will strive to continually develop your knowledge and skills within the suite of Speech Pathology to ensure teaching reflects the professions latest evidence base.

To be successful in this position, you will also have:

  • A Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in Speech Pathology.
  • A current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in Speech Pathology and ability to maintain concurrently within or outside of this position.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting.
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical education is desirable
