  • Base salary range: Level B $105,043.00 – $124,301.00 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education (PVCIE) is responsible for leading the University of Western Australia’s Indigenous Education Strategy which encompasses all areas of the University’s activities. The PVCIE provides strategic leadership of the School of Indigenous Studies and is responsible for the operations and strategic developments of the Berndt Museum, and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health.  Through these entities the office has responsibility to deliver multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs, and provide specialised support and services to current and future Indigenous students.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will work in an academic team providing a high level of teaching and high quality and high impact research as well as make substantial contributions to priorities projects and initiatives within the UWA Indigenous Strategy.

About you 

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • PhD or equivalent in a field relevant to Indigenous Knowledge, History and Heritage
  • Demonstrated teaching and learning experience and expertise relevant to the School’s teaching programs and the cultural collections of the Berndt Museum
  • Strong record of research publication relative to career stage
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary School, as well as lead strategic teaching and research projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal community organisations and networks in WA, nationally and internationally
  • Demonstrated well-developed communication skills
