About Speech Pathology:

The Bachelor of Speech Pathology Program is offered on three ACU campuses (Melbourne, North Sydney and Brisbane) and aims to prepare students to assess and diagnose difficulties with communication and swallowing, and enables them to provide intervention and support that is person-centred, culturally-sensitive and evidence-based. Consistent with the mission of ACU, the program is underpinned by values including a respect for the dignity of the human person, commitment to social justice, equity, advocacy, and a responsibility to the common good. The program comprises speech pathology theoretical units, inter-professional units, and professional practice units. Meritorious students may be eligible to undertake an embedded Honours program in third and fourth year. About the role:

As Lecturer in Speech Pathology you will make significant contributions to the Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University through teaching, scholarship, and/or research. You will coordinate, develop and teach into units of study that align with your experience and expertise, undertake research and/or scholarship of learning and teaching and support research students. Consulting with the Head of School and Assistant Deputy/Deputy Head of School of Allied Health, National Head of Discipline, the Course Coordinators of Speech Pathology and other staff, you'll ensure a high-quality experience for students and stakeholders in the Speech Pathology program.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Designing research-informed curriculum and learning activities.
  • Supporting students through evidence-based approaches to teaching, assessment design and feedback and creating supportive and engaging learning environments.
  • Establishing and sustaining a coherent program of quality research and/or scholarship of learning and teaching, demonstrated by high-quality outputs aligned with National and/or ACU priorities.
  • Effectively supervising Honours and/or HDR students.
  • Participating in academic administration, program review and quality improvement which ensure effective delivery of the program.

  • Total remuneration valued to $129,839 - $153,201 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $109,716 - $129,539 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
