  • Part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed term contract until 31 December 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $74,385 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

Based at our picturesque Mount Gambier Regional Campus , as a Teaching Academic you will focus on the preparation and delivery of teaching and associated administrative activities within the Unit’s undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs. You will work with guidance and direction from other academic staff and undertake duties with increasing autonomy as you gain skills and experience.  

The Lecturer: Social Work utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in the field of social work in their teaching practice and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

Core Responsibilities  

  • Design and implement learning activities including lectures, tutorials, assessment and provide feedback to students 
  • Adopt appropriate teaching approaches including face-to-face, online and blended to promote student learning
  • Undertake high quality teaching as part of the teaching team, including co-ordinating moderation of marking exercises 
  • Undertake administrative functions connected to courses taught and actively participate in meetings and committees at the program and Academic Unit level 
  • Undertake developmental activities to maintain currency with the profession/discipline 

Essential Skills and Experience  
  • Post-graduate teaching qualification in an area relevant to social work or equivalent experience in the social work field 
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources 
  • Demonstrated ability to actively engage and educate a student group 
  • Demonstrated competence in using the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery
