About the Role:

The overall purpose of the role is to make significant contributions to the teaching effort in the Speech Pathology discipline and to contribute to the College through academic relevant administrative and research activities. A teaching and research academic at these levels is also expected to play a role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

The position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will design and teach units, including online and preparatory material as well as convene units of study.

The successful applicant will be required to teach into the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University, supervise Honours and higher degree students and have supervisory responsibilities for some staffing.

Note: The academic appointment level (B or C) will be made according to an assessment of the successful applicant’s academic track record and experience. 

This is a full time, ongoing position (teaching and research) at Academic B , $101,598 - $120,647 or Academic C $124,457 - $143,506 classification (dependent on experience of the applicant) working 36.75 (1 FTE) hours per week.

Duties:

Examples of duties you may perform include:

  • Work with Speech Pathology and relevant other staff to develop high quality materials to teach and convene units in the postgraduate and undergraduate Speech Pathology discipline;
  • Participate in administrative duties and academic leadership such as course or unit Convenor, attend discipline and college meetings and/or membership of a number of committees.
  • Independently prepare and deliver curriculum content, including unit coordination, marking, assessment and consultation with students.
  • Independently and in collaboration with other relevant staff, conduct and disseminate research in areas of expertise in accordance with the expectations for the level of appointment.
  • Support the professional practicum program and enhance industry partnerships.  

About You:

You will be someone with energy who is innovative, progressive and collaborative. You will be an excellent communicator who interacts well with others across the College and the University.

Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in paediatric speech pathology either speech or language, or audiolog.
