Full-time, continuing Lecturer (Level B) and Senior Lecturer (Level C) positions available immediately
We are looking to appoint two new teaching focussed academics. The successful candidates will be teaching into School of Psychology courses in areas of their expertise.
The School of Psychology is growing and offers undergraduate and postgraduate level education in psychology. Research areas in the school spans several core areas of psychological inquiry, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Strengths in the school are in the areas of health and clinical psychology, cognition and brain, and social and organisational psychology. The school offers an intellectually stimulating environment in which to work in a prestigious and vibrant University community.
The Senior Lecturer (Level C) will also be the Program Co-Coordinator of our new, growing and online Graduate Diploma of Psychology. Courses in this Program are coordinated by a team of School academic staff across six teaching periods in the year and receives extremely high student satisfaction ratings. We are looking to appoint a Program Co-Coordinator who can work with this team to continue the successful growth and development of the Program. The Senior Lecturer will also teach into our on campus programs, and will need to have discipline expertise that will enable them to contribute to our undergraduate and/or postgraduate on campus programs.
The Lecturer (Level B) will teach into our Master of Psychology Programs. We are looking to appoint a Registered Psychologist, with Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology or Organisational Psychology.
To be successful at Level B, you will need:
- A PhD or equivalent higher academic qualification in Psychology.
- Registration as a Psychologist, and Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical, Health or Organisational Psychology.
- Approved as a Supervisor with AHPRA, or willing to obtain approval.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures and workshops as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching in Psychology with an applied focus.
- Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
To be successful at Level C, you will need:
- Skills in contemporary online teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to psychology.
- High-level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of staff and students in a cross-disciplinary academic environment and to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels.
- Experience in program coordination.
