(Level B/C)  $96,135 to $136,990 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% may apply.

Multiple positions available at continuing, convertible and fixed-term (2 years) academic appointments

The School of Computer Science is seeking to recruit teaching and research academics, and/or education specialist academics, at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Computer Science, Information Technology and Software Engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading school of Computer Science in delivering first class education in CS, IT and SE and to contribute to the School’s world-class research reputation. The School was ranked in the top-50 in the world in the 2021 AWRU rankings, and has outstanding strength in a variety of areas, especially AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Optimisation, Cybersecurity, VR and Mixed Reality.

We will make up to five appointments, with up to four of these being continuing or 3 year convertible appointments. As well as more standard teaching and research staff, the University of Adelaide also supports exceptional educationalists as Education Specialists with a strong focus on undergraduate education. A separate set of selection criteria with a focus of teaching quality and expertise will apply.

To be successful for teaching and research appointments (Level B) you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering and a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area.
  • Ability to contribute to the teaching and administration of subjects in Information Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering.
  • Evidence of and a willingness to engage in curriculum development and renewal in CS, IT and/or SE.
  • Ability to contribute to world class research that complements an area of existing strength within the school (see above), with a strong publication record, commensurate with opportunity.
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the
    diversity of the School community.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Level C you will need:

  • Leadership experience and high quality interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate undergraduate and postgraduate students including encouraging intellectual development and career aspirations.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract competitive research funding.
