About the Role/s

The Lecturer in Speech Pathology will contribute towards undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, inclusive of topic coordination, design and delivery of tutorials, workshops, assessments and student projects. The successful candidate will make an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovative teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching.

The Senior Lecturer will provide leadership in teaching and learning across Speech Pathology topics and courses in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This role will be responsible for making a significant and wide-ranging contribution to leadership in teaching and scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching. The Senior Lecturer will also have a key leadership role in service to the College and/or University.

About You 

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD or EdD or an equivalent qualification in a cognate field relevant to Speech Pathology, and currently hold and maintain a membership with Speech Pathology Australia. You will have evidence of excellence in teaching at a tertiary level and can demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication skills. Your exceptional interpersonal skills, allow you to effectively establish and maintain relationships with staff, students and industry.

You will also demonstrate:

Level B Lecturer:

  • An independent contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies, including student assessment and responsibility for topic coordination.

  • Understanding of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.

  • Understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship, and practice.

  • Ability and commitment to reflective improvement in teaching delivery.

Level C Senior Lecturer:

  • Significant and sustained evidence of development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies, including responsibility for topic coordination and/or curriculum design.

  • Understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to Speech Pathology.

  • Ability and commitment to reflective improvement in teaching delivery through participation in teaching and learning strategies and in professional development in higher education teaching.

  • Ability to contribute to scholarship and leadership in teaching, curriculum development, and teaching methodology across the discipline and College.
