About the Role  

Located in the Discipline of Physiotherapy within the Department of Nursing and Allied Health, the Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer, Physiotherapy will contribute to teaching and  build physiotherapy placement capacity and related supervision and assessment. The incumbent will work in collaboration with the Discipline Lead, Physiotherapy Course Director, Academic Placement Lead and the professional placement team to achieve these objectives. Developing practice partnerships with health sector colleagues to advance practice-based competency development and scholarship will be critical to this role. This position is open to part-time and job share arrangements for physiotherapists who want to combine physiotherapy practice with academia.

The Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer will also contribute to the development and review of the physiotherapy course using blended models of unit delivery; participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development of units offered by the discipline and progress research and scholarship aligned to the strategic direction of the school.

With a passion to innovate and embrace diversity the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Physiotherapy will enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of practice-based education and research within the discipline. The incumbent will be expected to conduct educational and curriculum development of both online and on campus learning materials and assessments in physiotherapy. In addition, the appointee will facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

The incumbent will be expected to contribute to research activities in the School of Health Sciences in physiotherapy and/or pedagogy and will be expected to conduct appropriate activities that will maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise.


About You  

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in physiotherapy.
  • Capacity to build research teams and partnerships and in practice research supervision to achieve high impact research outcomes.
  • Experience in planning, supervising and conducting physiotherapy or related research within a broader overall team environment, to identify complementary expertise and initiate appropriate collaborations.
  • Interest in and application of technologies to improve health practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching including a record of co-ordination, teaching and curriculum development and teaching physiotherapy to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • A Doctorate qualification appropriate to the Discipline (desirable).
  • AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist.
