About the Role 


The College of Nursing and Health Sciences are currently seeking applicants for either Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturers (Level C) in Nursing. These roles, have a primary focus on teaching and teaching-related activities, and have an important role to play in the University’s achievement of its strategic plan, Making a Difference: The 2025 Agenda. 


 


The Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Nursing will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of topics in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Both roles require making a significant and wide‐ranging contribution to teaching and scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer will draw upon their significant and prior senior leadership experience to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

The role will be located at the Riverland campus which hosts more than two hundred, nursing, allied health and fourth year medical students. The Riverland campus is situated in Australia’s largest producing wine region and is one of the largest almond and stone fruit producers in Australia. The region is known for its natural wonders and relaxed lifestyle along with a warm Mediterranean climate and is only 160km North-east from Adelaide, South Australia.  


Both roles will require the incumbent to hold and maintain a membership with a relevant professional association and be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.   


 


About You 


To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:  


Lecturer Level B (Academic) 


  • Excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level. 

  • Evidence of reflective practice. 

  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and industry. 

  • Understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and practice.  


The ideal candidate will also have completed a PhD or EdD (or equivalent qualification) in nursing as well as professional experience in the field of Nursing.  


 


Lecturer Level B (Clinical/Practitioner) 


  • Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field and ability to maintain concurrently within or outside of this position. 

  • Excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting. 

  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry. 

  • Evidence of reflective practice.  


The ideal candidate will also have completed a Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in Nursing.   


Senior Lecturer (Academic) 


  • Sustained evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level. 

  • Effective use of innovations and technologies in teaching practice. 

  • Coaching, mentoring, supervising student projects; research higher degree supervision as an Adjunct Supervisor. 

  • An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to Nursing. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry.  


The ideal candidate will also have completed a PhD or EdD (or equivalent qualification) in nursing as well as professional experience in the field of Nursing.  


Senior Lecturer (Clinical/Practitioner) 


  • Excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting. 

  • Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field and ability to maintain concurrently within or outside of this position. 

  • Engage in coaching, mentoring, supervising student projects, research higher degree supervision as an Adjunct Supervisor.  

  • An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary education practice relevant to Nursing. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry. 


The ideal candidate will also have completed a Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in Nursing.
