The National School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine comprises a team of highly motivated and dedicated academic and professional staff who have built a strong teaching and learning environment as evidenced by student demand, entry levels and student course evaluation over several years.

The Lecturer in Nursing will be expected to perform full academic responsibilities, including teaching and any related administration, in their discipline. This role will normally contribute to teaching in the undergraduate and post graduate levels and engage in professional activities appropriate to their profession and discipline.

The Senior Lecturer in Nursing position provides academic leadership in the School by undertaking coordination responsibilities and/or other leadership portfolios as required. The incumbent will be expected to make a significant contribution to the learning and teaching scholarship and/or research performance of the School.

Registered nurses with specialty experience in the areas of intensive care, community health and aged care are encouraged to apply. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are also welcome.

You will need to have:

  • Completed Masters (or enrolment in PhD) in Nursing or related discipline (Academic Level B).
  • Completed PhD (or within 6 months of submission for examination) in Nursing or related discipline (Academic Level C).
  • Current unrestricted Registration as  Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Evidence of quality student-centred teaching and effective administration of units and/or courses at a tertiary level in nursing, including familiarity with the effective use of eLearning approaches.
  • Substantial experience in the implementation of effective teaching and learning (Academic Level C).
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University.

Total remuneration valued to $121,160 - $133,901pa, including salary component $102,382 - $120,880pa (Academic Salary Level B) OR total remuneration valued to $151,564 - $164,554pa, including salary component $128,281 - $139,383pa (Academic Salary Level C); employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.  A 2% salary increase will be effective 10 July 2021.
