Overview

The School of Science has a strong track record of excellence in teaching and research in the areas of Conservation Biology, Data Science, Marine and Freshwater Science, Horticulture, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. We offer a choice of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have active research programs across all disciplines. Based at the Joondalup campus of ECU, the School of Science aims to maintain a high level of teaching and research achievements through recruitment of new staff.

The School is looking for an academic who has an exceptional early career track record in teaching and research with knowledge and experience in the marine sciences. Specifically, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with experience in Marine Science to teach into our courses and contribute to our marine science research area.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue independent research and supervise postgraduate students, develop and deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and undertake leadership and administrative duties in teaching or other university activities commensurate with the level of the appointment. 

The successful candidate will have a PhD and experience in teaching and research. A research track record in Marine Science (or related field) as evidenced by publications and grants, as well as experience in the supervision of postgraduate students, is essential. A demonstrated ability to work with others, and in teams, is also required.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $105,832 - $125,043 (ALEVB) to $128,880 - $148,089 (ALEVC) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
