About the Role

The College of Science and Engineering has a strong education and research agenda in Chemistry.  The Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry will contribute to teaching and research leadership in this area.

In this role you will be responsible for the development of innovative undergraduate/postgraduate teaching materials that are applicable and relevant for modern industry practice, multi-mode teaching delivery, including face-to-face and online, and other innovative and contemporary teaching practices appropriate for the discipline.

You will develop an independent, internationally recognised innovative research program in analytical chemistry that aligns with the Colleges Research Strengths, evidenced through activities such as publication, grant acquisition and student supervision.

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to activities that strengthen engagement with existing partnerships and/or build new partnerships that have potential for providing improved teaching, learning and or research outcomes in Analytical Chemistry.

Utilising your exceptional communication and high-level interpersonal skills you will develop, establish, and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, and industry. You will bring a collegial, collaborative, and supportive approach to the role whilst ensuring a strong work ethic.

To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification in Analytical Chemistry.

  • Demonstrated evidence of successful, high quality teaching experience at tertiary level, including responsibility for or oversight of topic coordination, course coordination, and curriculum design.

  •  An outstanding research track record and contribute to the College’s research strengths through high-quality publications and the attraction of competitive external grants.

  • An understanding of the nexus between teaching and research through your passion for delivering inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience.
