Remuneration: $111,603 - $132,529 pa Level B / $136,711 - $157,637 pa Level C (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Level B and/or Level C academic in our department. We invite applicants to become a part of our success and contribute to our exceptional research and education portfolio. As a successful candidate, you will contribute to teaching and research activities in the Economics discipline. The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Department and other academic staff members to develop and implement the department’s strategic plan, to enhance the teaching and research goals and be responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The role may also have responsibilities of course coordination, teaching-related administration duties and seminar coordination.

As a candidate for the Lecturer position, you will have:

  • A PhD, or near complete PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline
  • A strong research background, with a commitment and capacity to publish in top-tier economics journals in an area that aligns with the strategic direction and priorities of the Department
  • Some experience in teaching in a tertiary environment
  • A high level of interpersonal skills

As a candidate for the Senior Lecturer position, you will have:

  • A PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of high-quality scholarly activity, such as publications in the best quality journals in this field
  • A demonstrated ongoing commitment to research in a field of economics that aligns with strategic direction and priorities of the Department
  • An ability to work within inter-disciplinary teams and build networks with external organisations including key industry partners
  • A proven commitment to high-quality teaching, including evidence of leadership in teaching
