About the Role

The College of Science and Engineering is seeking two lecturers to join our talented academic staff at Flinders University. As an Academic Teacher, you will be accountable for developing innovative teaching materials in multiple formats (including online), delivering inspiring teaching and course coordination, and supporting students with their academic progress (including supervision of higher degree students).

As an Academic Researcher, you will deliver ethical and high-quality research in areas that align with the College’s strengths. These research activities may include quality publication, external grant acquisition, scholarships, and presentations aiming to strengthen research collaborations and grow the research reputation of the University.

Other responsibilities of the role may involve; coordinating workflows and day-to-day feedback for research support staff, leading internal and external accreditation processes, fostering an environment centred on respect and collaboration and developing strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders.

About You

Candidates will be determined to be suitable for Level B or Level C positions depending on their relevant experience. The successful candidate for a lecturer position in computer science will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD in a computer science related area, or equivalent qualification.

  • Evidence of successful high-quality teaching experience at tertiary level, including the use of e-platforms for teaching purposes.

  • A strong research track record the area of computing sciences, including evidence of high-quality publication, and winning competitive grants.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Significant experience in one or more of the following areas: DevOps, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Mobile Computing or Web Development.

  • An understanding of supervising research students, course coordination and accreditation activities.
